Valarie S. Cunningham, MSW, LMSW, has been named Director of the Child Welfare Program.  In her role Valarie will provide leadership to the agency’s foster care and adoption activities and staff at both the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek sites.

She is a licensed master social worker and holds a bachelor of business administration degree.  Her academic work was done at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo. Valarie served as interim Executive Director of the Douglass Community Association and serves on numerous community boards in the Kalamazoo area.  Earlier career experiences include program supervision with Bethany Christian Service and work as an adoption specialist.
