Rosemary Gardiner, a 36-year veteran of Family & Children Services has been named Chief Executive Officer by the Agency’s Board of Directors at its June 19 meeting.

Rosemary, a Kalamazoo native, began her career in public relations in Chicago and has been with the Agency since 1972. She completed her undergraduate studies at Nazareth College, holds a master’s degree in social work from Western Michigan University, and completed post graduate school social work certification at University of Michigan. 

She has held successive direct service positions in child welfare and individual and family therapy.  In 1985 she was named Director of Public Relations and Marketing and in 2005 Director of Development. 

As Director of Development and Public Relations, Gardiner led Board efforts to build Family & Children Services’ Circle of Hope Endowment by $4 million (now halfway toward that goal) and the Agency’s 2007-08 HANDLE WITH CARE annual fund to $240,000.    

Rosemary served on the Communications Cabinets of United Way of Greater Battle Creek and Greater Kalamazoo United Way, is a member of Intercom and held leadership positions in the capital campaigns of Hackett Catholic Central and St. Thomas More Student Parish, Kalamazoo.  She is a past member of the Hackett Catholic Central School Board. She and her husband David, Vice President of Community Investment for the Kalamazoo Community Foundation have four grown children and two grandsons.
