Welcome to Family & Children Services, a private, non-profit, non-sectarian human service agency serving Barry, Calhoun and Kalamazoo counties. The Agency’s strength and viability have been linked to the community for 104 years. At Family & Children Services’ sites in Kalamazoo, Battle Creek and Hastings, you can feel the pulse of the Agency’s vital work. Inside the walls of those buildings and in homes and schools throughout three counties, over 8,000 lives are touched each year by 180 dedicated staff who come to work each day passionate about improving lives in the community. It is our privilege to stand beside each individual client providing support as they overcome difficult life situations and partner to improve the lives of vulnerable children and families.
Family & Children Services’ operating budget for 2007 is $7,957,711. Agency services are supported through allocations from local United Ways, contracts with Community Mental Health programs and the Michigan Department of Human Services, insurance reimbursements, fees for service based on a sliding scale and contributions in restricted and endowment gifts and gifts-in-kind. In these challenging economic times, we continue to be “A Source of Hope” to families within our service communities.
